K9 4 Phase System
Phase One:
Firstly, we remove the existing turf using a turf cutter to ensure it is all gone. We do this to a depth of 5-8cm, leaving enough room for the new base. If edging is needed, we use a specialist steel edging. This product is easy to install and can create any shape or straight edge, it is also very discrete creating a more finished looking lawn. We do not use timber edging as eventually this can rot and if used by pets to urinate on it will hold moisture and cause your lawn to smell.
Phase Two:
K9 turf is the world’s first and only 4 Layer Polyurethane Backing with a full Pro Flow Drainage System. It has a rapid flow, woven backing that allows all moisture to flow through the whole backing. There are no drainage holes in K9 Turf, the entire woven backing itself is the drainage “hole”!
Phase Three:
The K9 Turf Zeolite Infill is a very important aspect of a K9 Turf installation. K9 Turf is manufactured specifically for the zeolite infill to sit in the bed of the grass. The zeolite infill catches the pet urine and it crystalises once moist. The crystallisation takes away the strong ammonia smell, unlike latex backed grasses or grasses with only a few drainage holes.
When it rains on the K9 Turf or it is watered with a hose, it then releases the crystalised ammonia, through to the backing of the grass and disposed of into the base works.
